You bricked me up

Stay there - a treasure

You went away

Kept me your prisoner

You said I was too different

Was I too ugly? Not your ideal?

Your walls built between us

But not around me

I turned around - away from my despair

Sunlight, smiles and love awaited me

Stay there in your world

With your preconceptions

You live your loveless life

I will live mine with someone else

Respects me for my culture, my thoughts, my dreams

Not this crown of thorns you wished me to wear

You were always worthy 

Until you made me unworthy

Emotional handcuffs clatter to the floor
